HELP TUTORIAL ON BLACKBERRY SMARTPHONES

If you have a Blackberry phone you have asked this question at least once (maybe thousand times). The BlackBerry phone comes with many fancy add-ons, they have an eye-candy look but there is one problem with them. You have to purchase a data plan for internet access. (As far as GSM services tell) This sounded little weird for me because I could access internet even with my old nokia. The trick is GSM services push you to buy a data plan and BlackBerry also doesn't give information for internet access without data plan, but the phone is capable of accessing internet without a data plan.
I own a BlackBerry Pearl (so the details will be told for Pearl but I guess it applies to most of the models) and I am using internet with my Pearl without paying for data plan. To do this you have to make some settings with your phone. First of all you have to set up your tcp settings. In your BlackBerry menu go to => Options - Advanced Options - TCP and enter your APN information for your GSM Service. You can find TCP APN settings in the list below.
When you finish the settings you need a browser to surf the net. The best one is Opera Mini Browser. You download the Opera Browser to your BlackBerry and in the Opera Browser menu you go through automatic network setup. Once the Opera Browser finds out your settings you are ready to surf the net from you BlackBerry for free. (Excluding standart connection charges from your GSM service provider)

The most recent officially released OS for the
9300 model is 6.0.0.431
Device operating system releases are "released"
by specific carriers once they have certified
and trained their support techs, but still, you
are able to load to any carrier's same model by
following the instructions below. Some users
might worry they will void their device
warranty by loading an OS from another
carrier. There is really nothing to worry about.
Please read more information on that here:

There is no "unbranded" software. ALL
BlackBerrys are branded to some vendor,
whether it is stamped on the device face or
backplate.

BlackBerry 101: How to Unlock YourBlackBerry

Today we are looking a procedure that
most of us will do at one time or another
while owning a BlackBerry which is
unlocking. Keep in mind, this will only
work on GSM devices, or "World Phones"
like the 8830WE, Storm or Tour. If you
are like me, you will sometimes want a
BlackBerry from another carrier to run
on your own carrier. Or maybe you want
to sell it and increase resale value while
opening yourself up to more potential
buyers. All you need to do is get an unlock
code and follow our quick session and
your on your way!

How to Enter Unlock Codes for
Blackberry 8900, 9000, 9630, 8300, 8310,
8320, 8800, 8820:
You will need to get an unlock code either
from your carrier or from an unlocking
company. You also must have either a
active or inactive SIM card in your phone
to complete the unlock process.

1. Go to Options, Advanced Options, then
Sim Card

2. On your Blackberry, type MEPD (You
will not see any text appear on the screen
while typing MEPD)

3. Type MEP, then ALT BUTTON, and then
2 on your Blackberry keyboard (Once
again, you will not see any text appear on
the screen while typing)

4. You should see a prompt "Enter
Network MEP Code". Type in the unlock
code and press the trackball
If code says accepted, your BlackBerry is
now unlocked.

To verify your device is
unlocked, follow steps 1 & 2 and
"Network" will say "disabled". If Network
says "Active", then it is still locked to the
standard carrier. Be sure to check out our
Cell Unlocking Companies forum for more
information.
